At Lake Vouliagmeni, Mandy and Oscar celebrated a destination wedding that feels straight out of the most romantic summer stories. Their journey began with a magical marriage proposal during a camping trip in Australia and led to this beautiful celebration, where the planning and design by Maria Damanaki gracefully highlighted the natural surroundings, while the lens of Le Fil Photography captured every detail in the most beautiful way. The ceremony featured a stunning floral arch filled with roses, lisianthus and lush tropical leaves, creating a striking contrast against the rocky landscape, while the bridal bouquet of Bird of Paradise, the bride’s favorite flower that reminds her of Singapore and whose shape resembles origami, added a deeply personal symbol. «Because of the natural beauty of Lake Vouliagmeni, we wanted to keep the decorations minimalist and focused on lighting the trees, and creating a romantic atmosphere with simple fairy lights», the bride shared with us, and the result truly feels enchanting. At the reception, small vinyl records used as table numbers, inspired by a playlist of songs that mean so much to them, along with fan-shaped wedding favors featuring phrases in the four languages of their cultures, beautifully highlighted the multicultural spirit of the day. Every detail of this wonderful summer celebration transports us, and we cannot wait for you to discover all the unforgettable moments.

«We both met working in adjacent industries in Dubai. I was working as an architect in design and Oscar was the editor of an architecture and interior design magazine. Oscar proposed me during a camping trip in Australia on a secluded beach. We sat by the ocean drinking hot chocolate and Oscar fell down on 2 knees instead of 1 and asked me if I wanted to build a new life in Australia together with him.»

«My wedding dress was one of the first inspiration images I saved on Pinterest and I sought to find out who designed it, where I could get it from. It’s a piece by Lana Marinenko, with a pleated tulle and an asymmetrical design that I felt looked really elegant and unique. I found a wedding boutique shop in Singapore that carried it for rental. I tried a few other dresses, but ultimately still felt like the one I originally chose was the one that felt most like my style, and I fitted well in. It was an extremely versatile dress as well, as it had a train of fabric that was perfect for the ceremony, but I could lift up and carry as well while on the dance floor.»

«The flower I chose for the bridal bouquet was a tropical species, ‘Bird of Paradise’, which is one of my favourite flowers because it reminds me of my home country, Singapore, and I also loves its unique origami, like shape. Because of the natural beauty of Lake Vouliagmeni, we wanted to keep the decorations minimalist, and focused on lighting the trees, and creating a romantic atmosphere with simple fairy lights. Other decoration touches also highlighted our cross-cultural wedding, including the wedding favours which were fans emblazoned with phrases in one of the 4 languages of our cultures. And we also created tiny vinyl discs for the table setting numbers from a playlist of songs which we love and are meaningful to us as a couple.»

«My favorite moment from my wedding was the ceremony, walking down the aisle with mom and dad with Oscar at the end, the most perfect sunset. Also, the moment after the first dance when our families and friends came to join us on the dance floor, joined hands and everyone danced together.»

The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is to think about what matters most to you, don’t fret so much about the tiny details, or about pleasing people, because at the end of the day, everyone is there to celebrate you and to have a good time.
