Bonjour my brides-to be! I just love every little detail of the re-imagined wedding the lovely Monique from French Style Wedding is sharing with us today! French Style Wedding is a beautiful wedding blog designed for brides that are planning their wedding in France featuring dreamy weddings and chic inspirational ideas with a chic French flair… just like her re-imagined wedding!
“My wedding was a wonderful day full of celebrations, as I got to marry my best friend who I have known since I was two years old! I got married in 2008 before the dawn of Pinterest, following my husbands family tradition of getting married in a 10th century Abbey. Following my wedding day, my passion for all things weddings combined with a love of France, grew into French Wedding Style, after a friend needed help planning her wedding in France. Re-imagining my wedding today it would be very different, in fact I would have multiple weddings around France all with different styles. However this is one of my top re-imagined weddings”
Wedding Style
“I love the glorious and glamorous style of vintage Hollywood and this would be the inspiration behind the day”.

The Colour Palette
I chose to take inspiration for our existing favourite styles and vintage Hollywood, choosing a simple colour palette of white/cream, black, gold and red”.

Wedding Dress and Shoes
“There are so many wonderful wedding dresses available and it’s easy to fall in love with a new one every week. However no matter the fashion, bridal style should in large part be dictated by your own style and body shape. At 5,4” with an hour glass figure I would choose a dress mid length with a sweetheart neckline, nipped in at the waist with a full skirt maybe even in tulle. As it’s my re-imagined wedding I would also opt for a couture dress to be commissioned. And when it comes to the shoes it has to be Louboutin”.

Wedding Ceremony location and Reception
“Where else to showcase a vintage glam soiree than in the beautiful city of Paris! Before it closed its doors for renovation, my ideal location would have certainly have been at the Hotel de Crillon. I loved the exquisite interior of the hotel and its eight banqueting rooms – so I will just have to wait until it re-opens!”

Wedding Cake
“I couldn’t have a celebration in France without including a croquembouche as the wedding cake. They are so pretty and can be created with a sugar cage and delicate flowers, plus they provide such a centerpiece”.

Wedding Favors
“Favors are not on my ‘must do’ list so I might opt to forgo them completely and indulge each guest in a personalized luxury welcome pack for their rooms”.

Wedding Entertainment
“I have a weakness for smooth jazz; it sets the tone for the evening and feels like you’ve stepped onto a glam movie set. It is traditional for the croquembouche to be presented to the couple and their guests with mini fireworks coming out – so that would provide some entertainment as well”.

Honeymoon
“After all the glitz and glam of a vintage wedding in Paris, I would love to set off and explore some of the French territories on a month long tour, such as Reunion Island, Martinique, French Polynesia, Saint Barthélemy and Guadeloupe”.
