Anthea and Marty had their elegant fall wedding in Spetses, the greek island that is also known as the “island of aromas”.
Anthea’s wedding dress was a timeless and minimal chic dress by the talented designer Amsale Aberra. Anthea mentioned about her stunning wedding dress: “Finding my dress was a very easy and quick decision. I knew immediately when I saw my dress (even on the hanger!) that it was the right one. I just started smiling immediately when I saw it! I knew I wanted a ball gown style… it was extremely comfortable to wear and it reflected my personal style”.
Pink bridal shoes! What a lovely choice! Anthea decorated them herself with crystal brooches “They had a wedge heel… beautiful but also very comfortable! I wanted to be able to able to dance at my wedding!”.
Marty wore a classic black suit from the Dolce & Gabbana collection.
With her strapless silk taffeta ballgown, Anthea wore a Vera Wang veil: “the veil had little lace flowers that reminded me of jasmine blooms and it also had tiny crystals that sparkled in the daylight”, Anthea told us.
The bridal bouquet was a gorgeous arrangement of olive branches, pink roses including David Austin roses imported from England, lysianthus, aster and chamomile. Incredibly beautiful!
“The most beautiful moment was when I arrived at the church in the horsedrawn carriage and I saw my groom for the first time… standing in the doorway of the church… waiting for me”.
Anthea’s advice to other couples planning their fall wedding in Spetses:“Enjoy every moment of the experience”.
Anthea and Marty met at work and discovered that they had good mutual friends. He proposed while they were strolling along the beach on New Year’s Eve.
“The theme of fall wedding in Spetses was “Greek island elegance”. I wanted to use pastel colors because they contrasted so well with the vivid colors of the island, the sky and the water”, Anthea mentioned.
They danced together for the first time as husband and wife to the romantic song “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds: “And where was I before the day that I saw your lovely face? Now I see it every day and I know I am the luckiest”.
Beautiful photos of the newlyweds at the Poseidonion Grand Hotel, a hotel with exceptional architecture echoing hotels of Cote d’Azur style.
“Although we are still newlyweds, we already enjoy thinking back on our wedding day and laughing about how much fun we had with our friends and family. If we did not have the photographs, we would probably wonder if our fall wedding in Spetses was just a dream… it really was such an amazing day!”
«“If a bride is planning a destination wedding, I would advise her to follow her heart and her instincts. My heart led me to have my fall wedding in Spetses and I was lucky, because my family and my groom’s family also were very excited and hoped I would get married in Greece! You only live once, and you will never regret creating something extraordinary and memorable…”
