A romantic wedding in Chios filled with beautiful florals, antique gold details and lovely personal touches! Mary and Tibet chose this beautiful Greek island in the Aegean Sea to celebrate their love, bringing together the bride’s Greek roots and the groom’s Turkish heritage in a wedding that was truly special. With its picturesque villages, charming architecture and lush gardens, Chios was the perfect setting for their celebration, while Prestige Events planned a romantic, antique-inspired wedding with a gorgeous color palette of creamy white, caramel-tan and dusty rose. White Avalanche roses, white lisianthus and eucalyptus were combined with lovely blooms in soft pink, peach and yellow, creating lush floral arrangements that decorated the church entrance with an impressive flower arch and adorned the reception tables. We just love the gold touches throughout the decoration, from the gold-accented chargers and glassware to the beautiful table lamps and chandeliers that added such a romantic touch to the reception! The dusty rose details, inspired by the bridesmaids’ dresses, complemented the floral arrangements beautifully, while an antique gold welcome mirror and a memory table with photographs of loved ones in antique gold frames made the celebration even more personal. One of the lovely ideas was the creative seating display, where miniature bottles of traditional Greek ouzo served as escort cards for the guests! Mary looked beautiful in her wedding dress featuring Chantilly lace and a custom-designed bodice, while her bouquet held a precious family detail, a piece of fabric from her grandmother’s wedding dress wrapped around its stems. Even their wedding cake included a lovely family keepsake, the original cake topper from her parents’ wedding! When the rain brought the reception indoors, it made their first dance an unexpectedly intimate moment and one of the bride’s favorite memories. Planning her wedding from abroad, Mary also found inspiration and helpful advice through Chic and Stylish Weddings, as she shares: «It was really hard to find photos of weddings at my venue since there hadn’t been a wedding there in years. I was excited to find that the Chic and Stylish Weddings site had featured a wedding at the same venue. Seeing the photos and reading about their experience was so helpful and gave me a much better idea of what to expect. It helped me envision my own wedding.» From the beautiful flower-filled church entrance to the romantic candlelit reception and all those meaningful family details, there is so much to love about Mary and Tibet’s wedding in Chios. Don’t miss every lovely detail!

«It all began in October 2019, at a Halloween date function for my sorority at Florida State University. I chose Tibet from a few photos my friend showed me, not knowing that one simple decision would lead to the love of my life. We showed up to the party dressed as a basketball player and a referee. The function was held at Clyde’s and Costello’s, a favorite FSU bar, where, to my surprise, Tibet happened to be a bartender. Not just any bartender, though, he was the bartender. The life of the bar. He went on to make sure my friends and I were treated like royalty for the remainder of our college years. Just two weeks after we met, Tibet and I decided to go to EDC Music Festival in Orlando together. That weekend, we fell in love, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.»

«As our relationship grew, we became deeply involved in each other’s lives, embracing each other’s friends and families. After graduation, we moved in together in September 2022, settling into our first apartment in Pompano Beach, FL. Not long after, we welcomed Luna, our beloved Shepherd-Husky mix dog, who quickly became the center of our world. A year later, we made a new home in Fort Lauderdale. In August 2024, Tibet brought my family and me to Turkey to meet his relatives. While on a yacht in the Bosphorus Strait, with the Çırağan Palace as our backdrop, he proposed to me in a beautiful moment surrounded by our closest family.»

With my Greek roots and Tibet’s Turkish heritage, we chose to celebrate our wedding in Greece, bringing our families and cultures together in a place close to both our hearts.

«For my bridal bouquet, I chose full-petaled white Avalanche roses in creamy white, toffee roses in creamy caramel-tan and sepia tones, white lisianthus blossoms with tight green buds, and eucalyptus. Our wedding decor was romantic, elegant, and antique-inspired, with a European garden feel. We incorporated gold accents throughout the tablescape and venue, from the glassware and chargers to the table lamps and chandeliers, to create a warm, timeless look. Dusty rose, inspired by the bridesmaid dresses, was incorporated throughout the decor, while the florals featured a mix of pinks, oranges, yellows, whites, and greens that reflected the colors and feeling of spring. We wanted everything to feel warm, romantic, and timeless while still feeling natural within the garden setting.»

«At the beginning of wedding planning, someone told me that your wedding should look like you and reflect your personal style. That really stuck with me and inspired the entire look of our wedding. I wanted the details to feel romantic, timeless, and personal.»

«One of my favorite ceremony details was the beautiful floral arch at the entrance of the church, along with the antique gold welcome sign mirror. At the reception, our memory table was especially meaningful. We displayed photos of loved ones who had passed away and could not be there with us, framed in antique gold frames. It was very important to us to honor them in some way. We also used my parents’ original wedding cake topper on our cake, which was such a special connection to our families.»

«My bouquet was wrapped in a special piece of fabric from my YiaYia’s wedding dress, making it an especially meaningful detail to carry with me down the aisle.»

«My biggest piece of advice to a bride planning her wedding would be to enjoy the process and make your wedding feel like you. Try not to get too caught up in making everything perfect, because the little unexpected moments often end up being the most special. That said, always have a rain plan, even if rain seems unlikely, and practice bustling your dress before the big day. Those two things will save you a lot of stress!»

«My wedding dress was by Blanche Bridal, an Australian designer, and featured beautiful Chantilly lace. I found it at a bridal shop in Miami, Florida. I always knew I wanted a lace dress, and this was the third bridal shop I visited. My now sister-in-law, Laila, spotted it on the rack and encouraged me to try it on. I immediately fell in love with the dress, but I knew I wanted to change the top. I ended up having the entire bodice custom-designed to create exactly what I envisioned, including a subtle basque waist, sweetheart neckline, and plunge dip. I was definitely nervous because I didn’t get to see the finished dress until it was made and shipped to the U.S., but it turned out absolutely perfect. It was everything I had dreamed of and felt so uniquely me.»

«My favorite moment from our wedding had to be our first dance. It ended up raining, so we had to move the reception indoors, which unexpectedly made everything feel so much more intimate. Everyone gathered around us on the dance floor as we shared our first dance. After months of practicing, we finally got to do the dance we had worked so hard on, and having everyone we love gathered around us made it such a special and unforgettable moment.»
