A breathtaking chic destination wedding, beautifully planned by Menta Events, takes place on the island of Mytilene, where Andreya and Tom celebrate their love in a stunning setting surrounded by lush olive trees and overlooking the endless blue of the Aegean Sea! Planning their wedding from the United States and drawing inspiration from real weddings featured on the greek wedding site Love4Weddings, the couple envisioned a celebration that would blend effortlessly with the island’s natural beauty, incorporating romantic details and subtle touches of Greek mythology. White calla lilies, orchids and lush greenery create spectacular floral arrangements that climb around the trees and frame the ceremony space, while a stunning mirrored aisle reflects the sky and flowers, creating a truly magical scene! Our lovely bride captivates us with her distinctive cascading bouquet of white calla lilies, orchids and long, trailing greenery, as well as her gorgeous silk charmeuse wedding dress inspired by Botticelli’s painting “The Birth of Venus”, which she pairs beautifully with a flowing beaded veil selected by her father. The bridesmaids in their soft blue dresses complement the wedding’s color palette so beautifully, while the outdoor reception beneath the trees, featuring long tables adorned with white blooms and greenery and countless twinkling lights illuminating the evening, sets the scene for an unforgettable celebration. The beautiful photographs of Andreya and Tom’s wedding take us through a truly special day that we are sure will leave you feeling inspired!

«While traveling through Japan, we arrived at Osaka Castle for a morning stroll. As we wandered the grounds, we stopped by one of the koi ponds in front of the castle. There, with the castle behind us, Tom got down on one knee. He told me that I was his best friend and that he was madly in love with me, then pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him. I said yes. Afterward, we spent the rest of the morning exploring the castle grounds and taking photos together. It was romantic, intimate, and completely us, and getting to spend the rest of the day wandering Osaka as a newly engaged couple made an already incredible trip unforgettable.»

We wanted the wedding to feel as though it belonged in the landscape. The venue was surrounded by olive trees, mountains and the Aegean, so we kept the palette very natural and restrained with mostly white and green, with soft blue appearing through the bridal party and, of course, the sea itself. We wanted a mythological influence that felt romantic and otherworldly.

«For my bouquet, I chose a sculptural arrangement of white calla lilies and orchids with long, trailing greenery. I loved that it felt a little unusual and dramatic while still being incredibly clean. The same flowers appeared throughout the ceremony, climbing around the trees and framing the space.»

The greek wedding site Love4Weddings was especially helpful during the inspiration and design stages of our planning. Because we were planning a wedding from the United States, I loved being able to see real Greek weddings and understand how other couples had embraced the landscape, local venues and Mediterranean setting. It helped us think beyond individual décor ideas and consider how we wanted the entire celebration to feel. As our vision became more defined, we kept coming back to that inspiration while finding ways to make the day distinctly our own.

«When I think about the wedding now, two moments were the best for me: beginning the day with an incredible sense of peace, and ending it surrounded by more love and joy than I knew could exist in one place. The morning of the wedding, while we were getting ready, horses were running through the water outside my bedroom window while my bridesmaids and I lounged on the bed, talking about makeup and getting ready for the day. I expected to wake up nervous, but instead I felt completely calm. I was drenched in this sense of certainty. I knew I made the right choice in a partner, in the venue, in who we invited. I was more peaceful and sure than I can ever remember feeling before. The second one was actually a very quiet one during the reception. I was standing with my brother and sister, looking out at everyone dancing, laughing and celebrating, and I remember having this overwhelming realization that everyone I love is here, and they’re happy. For a moment, I just stood there and took it all in. I don’t think I have ever experienced so much joy in one place before.»

«My wedding dress was inspired by Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. Since we were marrying on a Greek island overlooking the Aegean, I wanted the mythology of the setting to influence what I wore without feeling like a costume. The dress was made from silk charmeuse, which gave it that fluid, almost liquid quality I was looking for. It moved beautifully in the wind and felt very natural against the sea and landscape. I also loved that the dress was versatile. It had removable straps and a long silk necktie, which allowed me to change the way I wore it throughout the day. There was something very fitting about having a dress that could move and transform rather than feeling overly rigid or precious. The veil, however, was incredibly important to me. I knew from the beginning that I wanted a very long mantilla veil, and my dad was actually the one who selected both the veil and the beading that was added to it. That made it one of the most sentimental pieces I wore. The mantilla brought a traditional, romantic quality to the look and created this beautiful contrast with the dress. Altogether, I wanted the look to feel timeless, feminine and ethereal, as though I could have stepped out of the Aegean and into the wedding.»

«My favorite ceremony detail was the mirrored aisle beneath the trees. It reflected the sky, flowers and surrounding greenery, so at certain angles it almost looked like we were standing on water. We also incorporated soft white draping into the trees, which moved with the breeze and gave the ceremony that ethereal quality I had imagined.»

«My advice to a bride planning her wedding is that your future husband should be helping you plan the wedding. It sounds obvious, but I think there is still an expectation that the bride will carry most of the planning, decision-making and mental load while the groom simply shows up. Tom was genuinely my partner throughout the process. He did not just show up. He actively participated in the creative process. Planning a wedding, especially a destination wedding, can become an enormous amount of work, and I don’t think one person should have to carry all of it. Divide the responsibilities, make decisions together, and let your partner care about things differently than you do. There were certainly details I cared about more and others that Tom handled, but the responsibility for making the weekend happen belonged to both of us. By the time the day arrived, I wasn’t exhausted from feeling like I had single-handedly produced an event for everyone else. I could actually be present and enjoy what we had built together.»

«For the reception, we wanted the atmosphere to become warmer, looser and more communal. We celebrated outside beneath the trees with long tables, greenery from the ceremony and white florals with strands of warm lights overhead. As the sun disappeared and everyone started dancing, the entire space transformed. That was probably what I loved most about the décor: it never felt separate from the celebration. During the day it was soft and romantic, and by night it became this glowing backdrop for a very joyful, chaotic Greek party.»
