The romantic destination wedding of Melanie and Chris in Kefalonia stood out for its authentic beauty and the heartfelt emotions it created for everyone present. Mythos Weddings planned and designed every detail of their day, and the result was simply stunning! The entrance of the church was adorned with a lush floral arch of hydrangeas roses, and lisianthus in soft white and peach tones, curated by Bosonis Flowers Events, adding an ultra chic touch to the scene. The reception embraced a garden style decoration with small glass vases filled with roses in white and warm toffee shades. Melanie, a graphic designer with a passion for detail, wanted to capture the island’s beauty through textures and colors and shared her thoughts on choosing Kefalonia as their wedding destination: «In May, we moved in together and took a holiday to Kefalonia. For Chris, it was his first time visiting the island that I had fallen in love with years ago at a friend’s wedding. The beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea and lush green mountain views stole our hearts, becoming our shared happy place. We knew then that if we were ever to get married, it would be here…» Each photograph tells the story of this unforgettable day, so don’t miss the chance to enjoy all the gorgeous details!

«Our journey began at a wedding where fate had a delightful surprise in store for us. I had just caught the bridal bouquet and Chris, ever the charmer, was giving his cousins dating advice. When Chris spotted I, he thought I would be the perfect example of how to chat up a girl. After half an hour of drunken chatter, Chris left, leaving the ball in my court by super liking me on Tinder. A week later, destiny played its part and we went on our first date. We started at The Lighterman in King’s Cross and ended with a lively bar crawl in Farringdon, filled with laughter, dancing and a few too many drinks. It was clear from the start that this was something special.»

«By 2020, after a wonderful weekend in the Lake District, we decided to make it official. Our love for adventure took us to Mexico, Lisbon, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset between 2020 and 2021, creating countless memories together. In May 2022, we moved in together and took a holiday to Kefalonia. For Chris, it was his first time visiting the island that I had fallen in love with years ago at a friend’s wedding. The beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea and lush green mountain views stole our heart»s, becoming our shared happy place. We knew then that if we were ever to get married, it would be here.

«In December 2022, we embarked on a six-week travel adventure. We started in Thailand, exploring temples, beautiful beaches and indulging in street food, foot massages, and fresh coconuts. Our journey continued to Cambodia, where we toured the incredible Angkor Wat at sunrise. Our final stop was Vietnam, where we explored bustling cities, savoured noodle soups and spring rolls, and ended our trip with a luxury boat ride in Halong Bay. With the help of some traveling friends, Chris got down on one knee and surprised me by asking her to marry him.»

«My wedding dress was from Susanne Neville, a renowned British designer based in Knightsbridge. I wanted a classic dress with delicate floral detailing that felt perfect for a destination wedding. The team at Susanne Neville were incredibly accommodating, tailoring the dress to suit me perfectly, including adding a slit, which was the perfect touch for the warm weather! My wedding dress was called Faure, featuring a structured square neckline and delicate straps that created a modern yet romantic silhouette. The bodice was fitted and cinched with a simple crepe waistband, flowing into a full A-line skirt made from soft layers of floral-embossed fabric that added subtle texture and movement. It felt effortlessly elegant and light, perfect for a destination wedding.”»

«As a creative, designing the look and feel of my wedding was one of the most exciting parts of the planning process. I envisioned a chic celebration with a touch of modern elegance. All of our wedding stationery was designed by me through my brand, Oh So Ltd. I wanted to capture the beauty of the island through texture and colour, using traditional printing techniques such as debossing and embossing. At the church, we provided printed fans with details of the Orthodox wedding ceremony, adorned with elegant gold tassels. For the reception, each place setting featured a personalised menu so guests could see the meal curated for them. Flowers were such an important element for me, I adore them! I chose a neutral colour palette featuring white and toffee-coloured roses, which beautifully complemented the stone venue. A stunning floral arch adorned the church entrance and was later repurposed behind the head table as a focal point. To create a romantic ambience, lighting played a key role. We used candles of varying heights on each table and added festoon lights over both the dance floor and the dining areas, creating a warm and intimate glow throughout the evening.»

The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is to start early and prioritize your budget, working with a wedding planner and find suppliers you trust. Personalizing your wedding stationery to suit your wedding theme and venue. Make your guests feel thought about by giving them all the info before the big day and making it a smooth day/weekend. Don’t stress on the day and smile throughout.

«We absolutely loved our wedding entrance, it was such a magical moment! We had a violinist, drummer and saxophonist playing live on top of our entrance song, which created the most incredible atmosphere. All our guests were gathered around the dance floor waiting for us to arrive, clapping and cheering as soon as the music started. We walked down from the venue entrance, through sparklers, and onto the dance floor, circling it three times before celebrating with three songs of pure dancing and fun, all before dinner was even served!»
