An unmistakable island spirit fills Fani and Ilias’ wedding in Serifos, where the island’s authentic, peaceful beauty, wild landscapes and breathtaking sunsets embraced their special day in the most natural way. Their story began exactly as you would expect for two people who share a love for music and good company, at Ilias’ tavern during a live music night, when their eyes met and from that very moment their journey together began. It later led to a heartfelt marriage proposal in Madrid at Sala de Despiece, alongside their baby, with the ring hidden inside dessert and a moment overflowing with emotion. The talented team at Koumpares curated the design of this truly special celebration, which started at the couple’s beloved little chapel, Agios Sostis and unfolded into a vibrant beach party, with AVAC setting the perfect mood for an unforgettable night of celebration. «The location itself, with the beach and its wild beauty, was the most beautiful decoration of all. We chose a boho style with earthy elements and shades, with green as the dominant color, our favorite one, in khaki tones along with terracotta, peach and mocca details that added warmth and a playful feeling», the bride shares with us. Dezoom Events brought this vision to life beautifully with roses, eucalyptus, lush greenery, hydrangeas, pampas grass and carnations in soft nude, salmon and earthy tones, while the bridal bouquet of roses, abundant eucalyptus and rich greenery tied every detail together so effortlessly. Wanting something simple yet elegant for an island wedding, Fani designed her wedding dress from scratch at Demetrios, working from a base design and customizing fabrics and patterns that flattered her perfectly, while the lace cape she chose instead of a veil added such a romantic touch to her bridal look. Floor cushions, bean bags and rugs on the sand, finger food, an open bar right by the chapel and live music all came together to create a wedding reception that felt deeply authentic and completely their own, a night that looked far more like a grand celebration of love than anything ordinary!

«We met in the most fitting way possible, surrounded by music, smiles and good company. My husband owns the taverna Remoutsiko and one evening when there was live music, I was there with friends. From the very first moment our eyes met, there was this spark that’s so hard to describe with words. What made him, as he says himself, fall even more in love with me was when I ordered one more portion of lamb chops and ate them with my hands, naturally, genuinely and without trying to impress anyone. That was the night our story began. The marriage proposal took place in Madrid, at a special and atmospheric restaurant called Sala de Despiece, together with our baby. My husband had arranged everything with the staff and they had hidden the ring inside the dessert. The moment I discovered it was filled with emotion, joy and laughter. It’s such a tender memory that will stay with us forever.»

«Our wedding took place in Serifos, at our favorite little chapel, Agios Sostis. The location itself, with the beach and its wild beauty, was the most beautiful decoration of all. We chose a boho style with earthy elements and shades, with green as the dominant color, our favorite one, in khaki tones along with terracotta, peach and mocca details that added warmth and a playful feeling. The bridal bouquet and the floral decoration included eucalyptus, hydrangeas, roses, pampas grass in natural shades, carnations and different dried flowers that blended beautifully with the scenery.»

«The most important advice I would give is to sit down with your partner and talk honestly about what you truly want and how you have dreamed this day to be, without being influenced by family expectations or other people’s opinions. Don’t try to fit into ready made molds and checklists. Create your own from the very beginning, exactly the way you imagine it and in a way you can truly support and enjoy. It’s a day where you deserve to be completely yourselves, so both you and your guests can genuinely enjoy every moment.»

«My wedding dress was probably the most difficult part of the preparation. Since the wedding took place on an island, with the Cycladic breeze and that unique light, I wanted something simple yet chic, with a subtle glow that would still remind everyone I was the bride, without feeling excessive. It turned out to be more difficult than I had imagined to find a ready made dress that truly expressed me, so I decided to create it from scratch at Demetrios. I started with a base and, through changes in fabrics and patterns that flattered me, I managed to shape it exactly the way I had envisioned it. What truly made it special and gave it elegance was the lace cape I wore instead of a veil, a detail that I felt elevated the whole look and suited me perfectly.»

It was a night that felt completely like us: relaxed, authentic and full of love and energy, like one big celebration with all the people we love, celebrating the meaning of love itself.

«If I had to choose one favorite moment from our wedding, it would definitely be our ride on the inflatable boat from the chapel to the reception and of course our unforgettable arrival, which ended up going viral because in the end nothing went the way we had planned it. With the high winds, we couldn’t get to the shore the way we had imagined, so we jumped into the sea and came out through the waves instead! It was a crazy moment that nobody expected and it made everything feel so unique. My husband is spontaneous and a little “crazy,” and honestly I couldn’t have done anything other than follow him into this beautiful madness.»
