Oh, beautiful Rhodes! Ellie and Marco’s seaside celebration at Lythos is a lovely beach wedding inspiration. After getting engaged in Santorini, they knew they wanted to return to Greece for their big day. As the bride shared with us, Chic and Stylish Weddings helped them in their search for the perfect venue, and the moment they discovered Lythos on our page, they booked a flight to Rhodes. It was the very first venue they visited, and they did not need to see another. They fell in love with it straight away! With its Mediterranean light, sea views and timeless island atmosphere, Rhodes is a beautiful setting for a romantic destination wedding. Their ceremony took place by the shore, framed by a wooden structure dressed in flowing white fabric and fresh white flowers, with the deep blue sea stretching behind them. Blue also played a leading role in the decoration, paired with abundant table flowers and fairy lights throughout the venue. «The theme we chose was blue, with lots of flowers on the tables and fairy lights everywhere. Maria from Lythos was incredible and brought our vision to life. I had made a Pinterest board of everything I dreamed our wedding would look like, and somehow she recreated it even more beautifully than I could have imagined…» the bride told us. «Around a decade ago, we met at a party and quickly became really good friends. We bonded over music and our sense of humour matched perfectly. Over the next few months, we were talking all the time and genuinely loved spending time together, going out for drinks, grabbing coffee and, of course, going for food, as we both love to eat. Then one night, while we were out, we kissed. Within a few weeks, we told each other we loved one another and made it official. Through happy times and hard times, we have been by each other’s side ever since and at the end of every single day, we know we can always count on one another. Marco proposed me on a family holiday in Santorini, right in front of the blue dome. He got down on one knee and I was completely shocked, I genuinely didn’t expect it, especially with everything we had going on renovating our house at the time. I just remember feeling so overwhelmed with happiness. The fact he had planned it with my family there as well made it even more special. It just felt so thoughtful and so right. It was perfect.»
