Alexia and Christopher’s summer wedding in Athens is sure to surprise at every turn! “Christopher and I met at the age of 4 years old at nursery school. We began dating at the age of 17, and 10 years later we got married. We were on a trip to Croatia, when he proposed to me on Krk island. He had convinced me that he wasn’t ready to propose yet and that it would not be happening on our trip. I initially thought he was making a joke about tying his shoelace when he got down on one knee and proposed. We got married in church in South Africa in December 2020, as the pandemic kept postponing our wedding in Greece. We finally managed to have our wedding reception in August 2022”, Alexia shared with us.
“My bouquet was a combination of white orchids and roses, and a touch of blush pink roses. My tables had tall centrepieces with white flowers cascading down from them, and plates with gold edges and gold cutlery. I had a structure above my dance floor with hanging fairy lights and flowers, which I loved! My wedding had a swing with flowers wrapped around it and our names hanging on a sign at the top. This was great for photo opportunities with the ocean in the background. My colours were white and olive green with a hint of blush pink and gold. My wedding seating chart involved each table print on a page with a wax seal with our initials and an olive leaf…”
“My favourite part of my wedding was finally being United with all the family and friends after COVID and dancing for 6 hours straight on the dance floor with fairy lights and flowers above us and the ocean behind us. I also loved our first dance and the speech my husband and I did together, as we kept it fun and sincere”.
“My original wedding dress I bought from Vonve: it had a deep V in the front and beautiful tulle and lace detail at the bottom. My wedding reception dress was simple and elegant with a square neckline, a low back and a slit on the side”.
