Set among the greenery and stone pathways of Vasilias Nikoklis Inn, this rustic style wedding brought together tradition, nature and a deeply personal story. Matthaios and Haylee, who met in high school, chose the venue for its character filled setting, with its timeworn architecture, intimate courtyards, eucalyptus filled gardens and surrounding landscape that feels welcoming. Their story continued to shape the day in such a beautifil way, from the proposal that took place in a small local cinema during a screening of Casablanca, the film they still watch every year on their anniversary, to the thoughtful details woven throughout the celebration. The ceremony space was framed with natural textures, soft fabrics and organic florals that reflected their love for a relaxed, rustic look, while the floral design leaned into soft whites and layered greens. Bringing everything into one place was what mattered most to the couple. «Our favourite part of our wedding was bringing together our friends and family from Canada with Matthaios’ Cypriot relatives, traditions and cuisine. Watching everyone connect and celebrate together in one place meant so much to us.» the bride shared with us. With its natural charm, sense of history and thoughtful setting, Vasilias Nikoklis Inn offered the perfect backdrop for a wedding that felt meaningful and rooted in togetherness!

«We met in high school when we were 14years old. He rented out the small local movie theatre and played Casablanca, which is the movie we watch each year on our anniversary, he set up flowers and candles everywhere and he propose me.»

The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is to enjoy the process of planning your wedding. The day itself passes so quickly, so savour the moments leading up to it.

«I wore an off-the-shoulder wedding gown featuring a structured bodice and a subtle leg slit.»

«My bridal bouquet featured O’hara roses paired with eucalyptus and olive branches. We wanted to complement the natural greenery of our venue, so we chose a palette of soft whites and layered shades of green. Lush green centrepieces with delicate white blooms brought everything together beautifully.»
