Sasha and Chris’s destination wedding in Athens has a timeless romantic feel that will absolutely make your heart flutter! Their story begins with a beautifully romantic proposal in the Old Town of Dubrovnik, where stone walls and charming cobblestone alleys meet the sea, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable moment. From that fairy tale evening to the day of their celebration in Greece, the couple embraced every step of the journey with excitement and joy. Sparkling Day thoughtfully curated every detail, creating a dreamy setting with lisianthus, blue delphiniums, white tulips, soft pink carnations, and fresh greenery adorning the tables in the most enchanting way, while the refined wedding menu by Deipnosofistirion Catering made the evening complete. We invite you to enjoy the photos and experience with us the beauty of this extraordinary day!

«We’ve met 10 years ago when dating apps were just starting off and a midnight message from a stranger on Tinder became the deciding factor in us meeting our life long partner. We booked a holiday to Dubrovnik, Croatia for a little getaway at the end of the summer. On day 2 of our holiday, we went to check out the Old Town, the beautiful stone walls and streets, it’s location next to the sea was mesmerising. After some exploring, we decided to find a quiet place to sit down, we climbed on the magnificent rocks outside the fort to view the sea up close. It was dark, so I started looking for constellations on the sky and try to identify any. As I was sharing it with Chris, I got worried as he seemed a bit disinterest. I thought maybe my star talk is boring him. Then, out of nowhere, he changes the topic and mentions how whenever I’ve been away from him he greatly missed me. How he can’t see a future where we aren’t together. He pulled out the ring and asked if I would marry him, in front of the beautiful walls of Dubrovnik, as the moody sea was splashing around us and the stars shining. I said yes.»

When we were looking for inspiration on choosing wedding venues, we looked through the site of Love4Weddings to see some of the options.

«For my wedding dress I once again wanted something with clean lines, timeless design yet eye-catching. The dress has a base of a column dress, with a half A-line skirt to add volume to the sides, creating a train effect on the back. It’s strapless, as I wanted to make sure I don’t sink in the white of the dress. I still wanted to match the colour scheme of the wedding, so I picked a pastel pink long veil as a colourful fun highlight.»

«When picking the style for the wedding, I knew I wanted it to be timeless, simplistic yet very effective. For the flowers, I asked for wildflowers with visual interest, so that when assembled into a bouquet there was a good variety of pastel colours (green, pink, blue) as well as texture. For the centrepieces I was inspired by the style of ikebana, so we picked flowers which would look architectural too. The overarching theme was wildflowers, so we tried to keep any decorative pieces in that colour scheme, as well as hand-written name tags for the dinner table, sun umbrellas for the bridesmaids, and illustrated posters to invite guests into the venue. For the arch, we wanted the visual interest to be on the greenery. The wedding venue itself provided a beautiful view and interior design so we didn’t need to add too much. But we couldn’t skip out on adding a little figuring of our dog Marge to the top of the cake to include her in the ceremony!»

«My favorite moment was being at the aisle with my husband was the highlight of my day! Standing there with all our friends and family is something I will never forget.»

«The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is to try and breathe out, it is your day and you are the first person who should enjoy it. Don’t worry about attending all the guests, as it becomes really overwhelming really quickly and you miss a lot of time when you could be dancing on the dance floor with the love of your life!»
