Some weddings instantly make you pause and take in every single detail and Jenna and James’ summer celebration in Chania was exactly that kind of day. Set against the breathtaking coastal views of Sea View by En Kipo, their destination wedding brought together family and friends in a place that already meant so much to them. The couple had visited Chania many times before, it was where they spent their first summer holiday together and later where they brought their little boy on his first trip abroad, so choosing this beautiful location felt completely natural. Their love story also includes a very memorable proposal. In September 2021 James proposed during a trip to Madeira to celebrate their six year anniversary. Early that morning he woke her before sunrise for a hike and just as the sun was rising he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, all while a carefully positioned drone secretly captured the entire moment on video. For their wedding day the couple envisioned a clean and simple style with a classic feel and modern lines, allowing the stunning surroundings to take center stage. The ceremony took place on the stunning grounds of Sea View by En Kipo overlooking the endless blue of the sea and sky, where rows of white chairs framed a bright white aisle runner leading to a minimal structure decorated with abundant white blooms. Instead of a traditional floral arch they chose a sleek frame installation filled with soft white flowers, perfectly placed to highlight the spectacular view behind it. Floral Design by En Kipo Flower Creations created lush arrangements of white flowers that contrasted beautifully with the vibrant greens of the grass and the deep blue of the sea, while the bright white details tied everything together in the most timeless way. After the ceremony guests moved into the reception area where round tables were styled with delicate floral centerpieces and thoughtful details. Personal touches were woven throughout the celebration, from the welcome mirror greeting guests as they arrived to the memories ladder displaying photographs of loved ones who could not be there, and even a custom drinks menu featuring illustrated his and hers cocktails. As the sun slowly set over the water, the celebration continued beneath glowing lights wrapped around the palm trees, creating an unforgettable evening in one of Crete’s most beautiful seaside venues. Argyro Bridal Make Up & Hairstyle in Crete completed the bride’s look for the day, while every corner of Sea View by En Kipo provided the perfect setting for moments that Jenna and James will treasure forever, and this stunning wedding in Chania is guaranteed to inspire anyone dreaming of a destination celebration by the sea.

«We met on Tinder back in 2015. Once we got to know each other more, we realised we grew up going to a lot of the same places, like local swimming baths and libraries and even lived not too far from each other when we were kids. James proposed me in Madeira in September 2021. We went away for our 6 year anniversary and on the morning of our anniversary, he woke us up before sunrise and took us on a hike, then just as the sum was rising he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Unknown to me, capturing the whole thing on video from a well positioned drone.»

«We absolutely loved our whole wedding day. We both knew we wanted to get married abroad and for me, having a view of the sea, was something I pictured ahead of our day and we were so lucky with finding the venue we did. We had been to Chania a few times previously to finding our venue Sea View by En Kipo. Chania was the place we went on our first summer holiday together, where we took our little boy for his first holiday abroad when he was a baby and with it having such a special place in our hearts, we just knew it was where we wanted to bring all of our family and friends to enjoy our special day.»

Thinking about our wedding style and decorations, I wanted it to be clean, simple and elegant, a classic feel that would stand the test of time but with a nod to modern day trends with clean lines. I knew with our wedding venue we would be lucky to have bright greens of the grass and flower and bright blue of the sea and sky so I wanted the bright white of our flowers and aisle runner to contrast that and it went together perfectly.

«For our ‘altar’ I wanted something different to the many flower arches I had seen previously, again thinking about wanting clean lines and the bright white of our flowers against the back ground colours, I came across the set up we had online and knew as soon as I saw it, that it was what I wanted. It provided the perfect frame for the stunning backdrop of the view behind and some of my favourite pictures of the day are captured in front of it. We were conscious of adding touches of ‘us’ through out the day so had included things like our welcome mirror, our memories ladder that had pictures of our loved ones who couldn’t join us on the day and even our his and hers cocktails were illustrated on our very own drinks menu. Our main objective for our wedding was for our guests to have an amazing view, enjoy delicious traditional Greek food, have plenty of options to drink, dance and have a great time and for all the children invited to feel welcomed and part of the day too, which I think we achieved in abundance. We really could not have asked for a better wedding day and I wish we could do it all again!»

The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is to try not to stress about the little things, your day will come together beautifully and probably even better than you can imagine. Enjoy the planning, enjoy the run up and as long as you and your husband-to-be are sticking true to yourselves, true to what you both want, then your day will be amazing!

«My wedding dress was by Stella York and before I tried it, I always thought I wanted a sparkly, bedazzled dress with lots of beading and embroidery but when I first tried it on, taking everything away and just having timeless looking dress, I instantly feel in love. I made me feel like a bride, look like a bride and I knew then and there, I wanted to strip away everything else and have the plain white gown I went with. Looking back, I definitely didn’t pick a dress appropriate for the weather/location but if you’re not a little uncomfortable on your wedding ay whether that be with your shoes or your dress, are you even doing it right?!»

«My favorite moment from my wedding was arriving to the venue and seeing everything we had imagined come to life in front our eyes and surpass our expectations. Seeing our little boy dressed in his outfit that somewhat matched daddy and then getting to walk down the aisle, see the smiling faces from all our family and friends and see James waiting for me. I will never forget that moment.»
