«We met in our last year of college after being paired up in a group project. When we finished the project, we decided to continue to talk! Jonathan proposed me in a cabin outside of Dallas, TX. We wanted a weekend get away without internet and little cell service to completely disconnect. When we got there I told him I wanted to walk around the camp grounds and he decided he couldn’t wait anymore and proposed on the spot! The best part was that we got to be engaged for 48 hours without anyone else knowing.»
«For my wedding decoration I give my wedding planner and florist all the credit when it comes to our florals and decorations. We were originally thinking of only having white flowers with green foliage, when I saw the venue (who was also our florist) post a wedding that had beautiful flowers that varied in colors. I knew when I saw it I wanted to do something vibrant to really show off the beauty of the garden and to have ties to the book “A Secret Garden” where the main character and her new friends create a garden in secret and from that action build her new family. For my bridal bouquet, I wanted something simple and trusted our florist to match our other floral decorations. The arch was our favorite part of the wedding ceremony that made it feel like we were really in our own secret garden. To continue the garden party theme, our guests also had parasols and fans to keep themselves cool in the summer heat. Lastly, we absolutely loved our “caterpillar” table arrangement and the beautiful chandeliers that made the reception feel like a true fairytale.»
«My wedding dress was made by Paloma Blanca, a Canadian dress maker. It was Style P5088 a Spaghetti strap draped Charmeuse bodice with deep V-neckline. Fabric covered buttons from center back to waist. Charmeuse draped overlap skirt with slit. I wanted something where my arms could freely move and have a slit in order to keep cool in the summer heat.»
The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is that do not be afraid of asking help and getting a wedding planner who you can trust to execute on your vision. I’ve never been artistic or good at planning an event at this scale and it truly wouldn’t have been as beautiful or memorable if it wasn’t for my planner Mariangela Pateraki from My Planner.
