Eliza and Michalis’ love story begins with a marriage proposal straight out of a movie scene, as Michalis secretly planned a romantic two day getaway by a lake and while they were enjoying their peaceful stroll, he had already arranged for a photographer and a guitarist to arrive at their Airbnb and transform the space with candles and rose petals, with the grand finale being a large heart made of petals in the garden where he got down on one knee and proposed in Greek, even though he does not speak a single word of the language! Just a few months later, summer found the couple celebrating their love in the lush outdoor setting of Pyrgos Petreza, choosing an American style ceremony with bridesmaids and groomsmen, as the bride sweetly shared with us. The aesthetic of the day embraced a bohemian chic vibe, with white taking center stage and airy arrangements of orchids and pampas grass creating a soft romantic atmosphere, while the bridal bouquet of white orchids and beige pampas grass perfectly completed the look. «My favorite moment of the wedding was walking down the stairs for the ceremony and seeing all our favorite people, family and friends from both sides, all together in the same place sharing this wonderful moment with us. The feeling is indescribable and truly unique.» the bride told us, as Le Fil Photography beautifully captured every heartfelt moment of their unforgettable day.

«In 2018 I decided to take the trip of a lifetime and celebrate my 30th birthday in California! I have relatives there and during my stay they introduced me to Michalis. We instantly felt the spark and spent a few days together. We kept talking after I returned to Greece and six months later I visited him again and that is when we officially became a couple! Fast forward three years of long distance, I moved permanently to California, and about a year later Michalis planned a romantic two day getaway by a lake where he had arranged for a photographer and a guitarist to go to the Airbnb while we were out, they decorated everything with candles and rose petals, with the highlight being a big heart made of rose petals in the garden where Michalis proposed! He memorized the proposal in Greek even though he does not speak a word!»

«My bridal bouquet was a cascading style with white orchids and beige pampas grass. We did not get married in a church, we had an American style ceremony and reception. With vows, bridesmaids, groomsmen and all the cinematic touches. The wedding took place at Pyrgos Petreza, which is a beautiful venue on its own, so my decoration was very simple with beige, white tones and gold details. My favorite element was the ceremony arch we created for the vows which matched my bouquet with white flowers and pampas grass!»

«My wedding dress was a dream. I bought a simple strapless A line satin gown with a long train, with the only detail being mesh low on the back. But because I wanted something more unique, I took it to a seamstress and added a slit and a detail at the top of the slit that highlighted the silhouette and made it one of a kind!»

The advice I would give to a bride who is planning her wedding now is that this day is the most personal moment between the couple. Do what you truly want and not what others want. The people who love you will enjoy it with you!
