White and soft pink roses, lush greenery and beautiful deep blue details set the scene for Kate and Anastasis’ romantic destination wedding in Athens, where the blue waters of the Aegean and the natural beauty of the Greek coastline provided the most wonderful backdrop for their special day. With Kate coming from Australia and Anastasis’ family having Greek roots, the couple dreamed of a celebration that would bring together Aegean inspiration with Australian and English heritage, creating a timeless and refined atmosphere reminiscent of a luxurious house by the sea. Bright Blue Wedding Events beautifully brought their vision to life through the planning and design of their wedding, bringing together romantic florals, thoughtful details and classic styling that perfectly complemented the seaside setting. Their June wedding was full of unexpected moments, as rain brought dramatic skies throughout the day before the clouds finally parted and a beautiful sunset appeared just in time for the ceremony. Kate walked down the aisle accompanied by her father and twin sister, surrounded by romantic arrangements of white and pink roses, delicate baby’s breath and lush green foliage, while a stunning floral arch framed the endless blue of the sea. The reception was equally beautiful, with white linens, flowing fabrics, tall candles and romantic floral centerpieces adorning the tables, while handwritten invitations and menus added a lovely personal touch. Deep blue signage and lettering brought in subtle Greek influences, honouring Anastasis’ family heritage and complementing the coastal setting. One of the most touching details was Kate’s all white rose bridal bouquet, chosen as a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, while her bridal look featured striking voluminous, spherical sleeves and a beautiful organza veil shaped like a bow, created by an independent designer. The reception catering was beautifully taken care of by Intercatering, whose delicious culinary creations left a lasting impression on the couple and their guests. As Kate shared with us, «I used to visit Chic and Stylish Weddings. We discovered it right at the start, during the inspiration stage. It helped us work out what our wedding would look like, and from there we were able to pin down our style: a luxurious house-by-the-sea feel with Aegean and heritage touches. We looked at many wonderful vendors on Chic and Stylish Weddings, but for a variety of reasons we ended up choosing external suppliers for most of our needs. The exception was Intercatering, who we booked through the directory, and the food was incredible. Our guests are still talking about it!» From the romantic seaside ceremony and thoughtfully chosen floral arrangements to the beautiful heritage-inspired details and unforgettable sunset, Kate and Anastasis’ wedding was a wonderful celebration of love, family and the timeless beauty of the Athenian Riviera. We have gathered all the lovely moments from their special day, and we are certain you will find so much inspiration in every beautiful detail!

«Our story began on a chilly Friday evening in January 2019 at The Saint in Paternoster Square, a much-loved London pub for City workers. A mutual friend, who was both Kate’s close friend and Anas’ work colleague, introduced us. Kate worked nearby and regularly gatecrashed their after-work drinks, but this was the first night Anas joined. In July 2023, just a few months before our baby son’s arrival, Anas surprised Kate with a magical proposal on the serene shores of Agia Anna in Evia. With the sea beside us and the summer sun overhead, Kate said “yes” to forever, and our next great adventure began.»

«Kate is from Australia and was missing her late mother, so she wanted a white rose bouquet as a quiet tribute to her. White roses were also a natural fit for the look she had in mind: chic, elegant and timeless, with the understated grandeur of a classic heritage wedding. The styling blended Aegean inspiration with Australian and English heritage, giving the day a grand, refined feel. We loved the idea of handwritten invitations and menus, layered with elegant Greek touches drawn from Athens and the Aegean. Even though the venue was by the sea, we wanted the feel of a luxurious house by the water rather than a relaxed, bohemian beach look. To bring a touch of an Australian wedding to Greece, we added pink roses, baby’s breath and lush green foliage to the florals. Signage and fonts were set in deep blue, in honour of Anas and his family’s Greek heritage.»

«I can’t pick just one favourite moment from our wedding! It rained, in June. There’s always one weekend in June when it rains in Athens, and of course we got that one. But with a little logistical shuffling, expertly navigated by our wonderful planner from Bright Blue Wedding Events, it became the most special evening. The sunset broke through the clouds just in time for the ceremony, and the dramatic skies made for beautiful photographs.Walking down the aisle with my father, with my twin sister by my side, was incredibly special. The speeches were too: an intimate, close-knit family moment that showed how much it meant to have our guests there.»

«My advice to a bride who is planning her wedding is to hire a wedding planner and let them take care of everything so you can simply enjoy it. It’s your day, and you’re the guest of honour, not the host! Soak up every moment and have as much fun as you possibly can.»

«But my absolute favourite moment was our entrance. We had our first dance and then invited everyone straight onto the dancefloor for Avicii’s “Levels”, a real crowd-pleaser that set the tone for the whole night. We couldn’t get anyone off the dancefloor to sit down for dinner!»

«My wedding dress was designed by Halfpenny London, and it was a real fashion moment. Rather than a traditional gown, it was made up of three separate pieces, which made it such a fun, whimsical and modern outfit to wear. The base was a strapless corset bustier, simple and elegant, which let the other two pieces stand out. On top of that was a dramatic skirt, with metres of structured Mikado silk, and my favourite element – an exaggerated frilled hem which gave a classic silhouette a fresh, modern twist. The finishing touch was a pair of voluminous, spherical sleeves, made separately from the dress, and they turned a simple strapless look into something really striking. They were just so fun to wear! My veil was also from an independent designer. It was made from organza and shaped like a bow, which added a playful, unexpected detail to the whole look.»
