After a truly beautiful proposal that is sure to touch your heart, Eleonore and Georgios take us to Crete for their spring wedding, where their love seamlessly blends French and Greek traditions in a heartfelt tribute to both cultures. The bride, stylish and radiant, with glowing makeup by Argyro Bridal Make Up & Hairstyle in Crete, highlighted her natural beauty in the most elegant way. «As architects, our shared passion for design and attention to detail naturally influenced every aspect of our celebration. With both of us coming from Mediterranean backgrounds, it was important that the decor reflected this heritage, elegantly and simply. We chose a soft, organic palette of sand, sage and other earthy tones to evoke the coastal landscapes we love. Florals were kept minimal and classic: white blooms paired with fresh greenery, a theme echoed in the bridal bouquet» Eleonore shared, and the photos beautifully capture this perfect balance. Every detail feels moving, from the white roses in her bouquet to the sweet atmosphere of the day, and we invite you to enjoy images overflowing with joy and romance!

«Yorgi and I met at work almost 7 years ago in England. We were both working for the same architecture practice and living in the same city. After getting to know each other and spending a lot of time together, we realised that we were meant to be. Our proposal story is quite funny! In the summer of 2022, I was graduating from my masters degree. My whole family made it to the UK from France to celebrate with me, and Yorgi’s mother and brother came along as well. At the graduation dinner, Yorgi decided to buy some champagne for the whole table. Everyone was very pleased and loved his gesture. My step dad then thought it would be a great time for me to make a speech. Not being really enthused by the idea, Yorgi decides to proceed with a speech. As my family is French, I had to translate as he went. He goes on to say how proud he is of me, having studied during a pandemic and made friends in a new city. He then asks if I am still ready to translate to which I say yes. He continued by saying something that only I could understand, which made me understand that he was proposing. My brain clicked and started crying and shaking, incapable of translating what he had just said. As my family did not understand what was going on, they all start panicking, shouting at my boyfriend « what did you say to her!? Why did you make her cry!? ». Yorgi’s mother, who was the only one who knew what was happening, tries to translate in French, but failed. My mother then manages to calm down and asks me calmly to explain what had been said. I tried to calm down and translate, but the crying and mumbling made it impossible for my family to understand. My family was still a bit confused till Yorgi went down on one knee. From anger to confusion, my whole family started crying, after understanding he was proposing. It was an incredible moment which our family cherish.»

«One of the most personal touches was the stationery, which we designed ourselves over several months. We wanted every detail to feel meaningful, so instead of traditional table numbers, we named each table after Mediterranean islands like Crete, Corsica and Sardinia and I created bespoke artwork to accompany each name. It was a subtle nod to the sea that connects our roots.»

«I wasn’t entirely sure what kind of wedding dress I wanted when I began my search. I just knew I was drawn to something simple, timeless, and elegant. Something I could look back on years from now and still love just as much. I visited Martine Toledano, a stunning bridal boutique in my hometown of Nice, France and to my surprise, I found my dream dress during the very first fitting. The gown, by Kyha Studios, features a strapless corset silhouette with a beautifully draped detail that gathers at the side and flows into a subtle slit. To complement the crisp white fabric, I chose white slingback heels from Amina Muaddi. The sculptural shape of the heel added just the right touch of modernity to the look.»

«If you’re planning to incorporate DIY elements into your big day, my biggest advice to a bride who is now planning her wedding is to start early. Give yourself plenty of time to create and organise everything well in advance. It’s a wonderful way to add personal touches, but leaving things to the last minute can turn a joyful process into a stressful one. Planning ahead ensures you can enjoy the lead-up to your wedding without unnecessary pressure.»

Family holds the most important place in our lives and we wanted to honour that in a heartfelt way. Rather than delivering a speech that might cast a somber tone, we chose to celebrate our loved ones, past and present, through a visual tribute. Around the welcome drinks area, we displayed printed family photographs on tree trunks and decorative ladders. The images spanned generations: from our childhoods with parents and siblings, to portraits of our grandparents and ancestors. This detail became one of our favourites and it resonated deeply with our guests as well.

«One of the most powerful and emotional moments of the day was the traditional Greek bridal dance. Surrounded by family, I felt deeply connected to my husband’s roots and heritage. What made it even more special was seeing my loved ones, many of whom didn’t know the steps and eagerly take part. They embraced the moment wholeheartedly, doing their best to learn and join in. Even my brother, who usually shies away from dancing and the spotlight, stepped onto the floor. It was a beautiful reminder of how love and celebration can bring people together in the most meaningful ways.»

Another significant moment was the cutting of the cake. We chose a traditional French wedding cake as a nod to my heritage and it felt incredibly meaningful to incorporate both of our cultures throughout the day. Sharing that moment symbolised not just the joining of two people, but the coming together of two families and two rich cultural traditions, a perfect blend that reflected the heart of our celebration.Eleonore , Bride
